Mummy Hot Dogs (Halloween Movie Night Snack)

  • Total Time: 27 minutes
  • Yield: 12 mummies 1x

Description

Crescent-wrapped hot dogs baked into spooky-cute mummies—an easy, crowd-pleasing Halloween finger food perfect for movie night with kids and adults.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 hot dogs (beef, turkey, or plant-based)
  • 1 (8 oz) can crescent roll dough or puff pastry sheet
  • 1 large egg, beaten (optional, for shine)
  • 2 tbsp yellow mustard or ketchup (for eyes)
  • 2 tbsp finely chopped black olives or peppercorns (eyes, optional)
  • Cooking spray or parchment paper
  • Dipping sauces: ketchup, mustard, or warm marinara

  • Instructions

    1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment or lightly grease.

    2. Pat hot dogs dry. Optional: slit lengthwise and tuck a little shredded cheese inside.

    3. Unroll dough and cut into thin strips (about 1/4 inch).

    4. Wrap each hot dog with dough strips to look like mummy bandages, leaving a small gap for the face.

    5. Brush lightly with beaten egg if using. Place on the prepared sheet.

    6. Bake 12–14 minutes, until dough is golden and hot dogs are heated through.

    7. Cool 2 minutes. Dot the face gap with mustard or ketchup and add tiny olive bits for eyes. Serve warm with dipping sauces.
