2. Boil cubed sweet potatoes in salted water for 15–20 minutes until fork tender; drain and let cool.
3. Mash potatoes in a bowl or mixer until smooth.
4. Add 4 tablespoons butter, brown sugar, heavy cream, eggs, salt, cinnamon, and bourbon; blend until creamy.
5. Spread mashed mixture evenly in the prepared dish.
6. In a separate bowl, mix flour, pecans, bacon, remaining 2 tablespoons butter, and maple syrup until crumbly.
7. Sprinkle topping over potatoes.
8. Bake uncovered for 30–35 minutes until edges bubble and topping is golden.
