Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 lb (900 g) ground beef, 80/20
  • 1/2 cup finely diced onion
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp kosher salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 6 oz cheddar, cut into 6 cubes (or 1 cup shredded)
  • 1 jalapeño, minced (optional)
  • 2 tbsp cooked bacon bits (optional)
  • Nonstick cooking spray or oil
  • 6 Halloween buns (black or orange), split and warmed
  • Lettuce, pickles, tomato slices (optional)
  • Ketchup, mustard, or special sauce

  • Instructions

    1. Heat oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a 6-cavity skull pan.

    2. In a bowl, mix beef, onion, garlic, Worcestershire, salt, and pepper gently.

    3. Press a thin layer of beef into each mold, packing into facial details.

    4. Place a cheese cube in the center; add jalapeño and bacon if using.

    5. Cover with more beef and press to seal edges; level the tops.

    6. Set pan on a sheet tray and bake 25–30 minutes, to 160°F (71°C).

    7. Rest 5 minutes, then loosen edges and unmold the skulls.

    8. Optional: Broil 1–2 minutes for crispier edges.

    9. Lightly toast buns; add lettuce, pickles, and tomato if desired.

    10. Set a skull on each bun, add sauces, cap, and serve hot.
