Description

  • 1 cup sour cream

  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard

  • salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1.5 cups shredded Swiss cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 box (6 oz) Stove Top stuffing mix
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 1.5 cups chicken broth
  • optional: 1–2 cups steamed broccoli florets or spinach
  • optional: 1/4 cup crumbled cooked bacon

  • Instructions

    1. Preheat oven to 375°F and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.

    2. In a bowl whisk together cream of chicken soup, sour cream, milk, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.

    3. Toss cooked chicken and ham with the creamy sauce until evenly coated.

    4. Spread the chicken mixture in the prepared baking dish and smooth the top.

    5. Sprinkle Swiss cheese and Parmesan evenly over the chicken mixture.

    6. Prepare stuffing by combining stuffing mix with melted butter and hot chicken broth; let stand until moistened.

    7. Fluff the stuffing and spread it evenly over the cheese layer.

    8. Cover with foil and bake for 20 minutes, then remove foil and bake uncovered for 10–15 minutes until stuffing is golden and casserole is bubbly.

    9. Let rest for 5–10 minutes before serving.
