Description

These rich and creamy homemade truffles combine smooth chocolate with refreshing peppermint for a festive holiday treat. Perfect for gifting or serving at Christmas gatherings, they offer a melt-in-your-mouth texture and elegant presentation.


Ingredients

  • 200 g semi-sweet chocolate, chopped
  • 100 ml heavy cream
  • 1 tbsp unsalted butter
  • ½ tsp peppermint extract
  • ¼ cup crushed candy canes
  • 50 g white chocolate, melted (optional)

  • Instructions

    1. Place chopped chocolate in a heatproof bowl over simmering water and stir until fully melted.

    2. Warm heavy cream until steaming and pour over melted chocolate, stirring until smooth.

    3. Add butter and peppermint extract, stirring until ganache is glossy and combined.

    4. Cover the mixture and refrigerate for 1–2 hours, until firm.

    5. Scoop chilled ganache with a melon baller and roll into 1-inch balls between your palms.

    6. Roll each truffle in crushed candy canes or dip in melted white chocolate and let set on parchment paper.

    7. Chill completed truffles for 15 minutes before serving or packaging.
