1. Pat chicken dry and season both sides with salt and pepper
2. Heat oil or butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat
3. Add chicken and cook until golden brown and cooked through about 4–5 minutes per side then transfer to a plate
4. Reduce heat to medium and add onion to the skillet; cook until translucent
5. Add garlic and cook until fragrant about 30 seconds
6. Pour in chicken broth and scrape up browned bits from the pan
7. Whisk in cream cheese until smooth then stir in milk and Parmesan
8. Add kale and cook until just wilted about 2–3 minutes
9. Return chicken to the skillet and coat with sauce
10. Stir in lemon juice and red pepper flakes and adjust seasoning
11. Serve hot straight from the skillet
