  • 3 cups cooked shredded chicken
  • 1 (20 ounce) package cheese tortellini
  • 3 cups broccoli florets
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ teaspoon nutmeg
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • ¼ cup seasoned breadcrumbs optional
  • chopped parsley for garnish
  • olive oil or cooking spray

  • Instructions

    1. Preheat oven to 375°F and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.

    2. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil, cook tortellini 1–2 minutes less than package directions, add broccoli for the last 2 minutes, drain.

    3. In a skillet over medium heat, melt butter, sauté garlic 30 seconds, stir in flour to form a roux.

    4. Slowly whisk in heavy cream until smooth and thickened, about 3–5 minutes.

    5. Add Parmesan, mozzarella, nutmeg, salt, and pepper, stir until cheese melts and sauce is creamy.

    6. In a bowl, combine tortellini, broccoli, chicken, and Alfredo sauce, toss to coat.

    7. Transfer mixture to baking dish, sprinkle with breadcrumbs and extra cheese if using.

    8. Bake 25–30 minutes until bubbly and golden, broil 2–3 minutes for a crisp top if desired.

    9. Let rest 5 minutes, garnish with parsley, then serve.
