1. Trim excess fat and pat chicken dry with paper towels.
2. In a bowl, toss chicken thighs with salt, black pepper, smoked paprika, garlic powder and brown sugar.
3. Lightly coat the seasoned chicken with olive oil spray.
4. Preheat air fryer to 380°F for 3-5 minutes.
5. Place thighs skin-side down in the air fryer basket in a single layer.
6. Air fry at 380°F for 10 minutes, then flip and cook for another 8-10 minutes.
7. Brush thighs with BBQ sauce and increase temperature to 400°F.
8. Cook for an additional 3-5 minutes to caramelize the sauce.
9. Remove chicken and let rest for 5 minutes before serving.
