1. Trim excess fat from chicken and pat dry, then lightly spray or line the crockpot.
2. In a bowl, whisk together barbecue sauce, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, smoked paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder.
3. Place chicken in the crockpot and pour sauce mixture over it, coating each piece thoroughly.
4. Cover and cook on low for 6–7 hours or high for 3–4 hours until chicken shreds easily.
