  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, chopped

  • 1/4 tsp crushed red pepper (optional)
  • 3 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 (14.5 oz) can diced tomatoes
  • 4 cups low-sodium chicken broth
  • 810 lasagna noodles, broken into pieces
  • salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1/2 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • fresh basil or parsley, for garnish

  • Instructions

    1. Sauté onion and garlic in olive oil over medium heat until onion is translucent and garlic is fragrant.

    2. Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it up as it cooks.

    3. Stir in Italian seasoning, crushed red pepper, salt, and pepper.

    4. Add marinara sauce, diced tomatoes, and broth, and bring to a gentle boil.

    5. Add broken lasagna noodles and simmer uncovered for 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally.
