2. If making fresh mash, boil potatoes until tender then mash with warm milk, butter, salt, and pepper.
3. Heat a skillet over medium heat and brown the ground turkey and sausage, breaking them apart.
4. Add chopped onion, carrot, and peas and cook until vegetables are tender.
5. Stir in garlic powder, thyme, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper.
6. Sprinkle flour over the mixture and cook for 1–2 minutes to thicken.
7. Spread the meat and vegetable filling evenly in a baking dish.
8. Top with mashed potatoes and smooth the surface or make ridges.
9. Dot the top with small pieces of butter or sprinkle with cheese if desired.
10. Bake for 25–30 minutes until edges bubble and the top turns golden, then let rest 10 minutes before serving.
