  • Total Time: 1 hour 15 minutes
  • Yield: 16 squares 1x

Description

Gooey cookie-and-brownie bars topped with candy eyeballs and a spooky red gel drizzle—perfect for Halloween parties or Friday the 13th movie nights.

Ingredients

Scale
  • Nonstick spray or parchment
  • 16 oz refrigerated chocolate chip cookie dough
  • 1 box brownie mix (for 89 in pan)
  • Eggs, oil, and water as directed on brownie mix
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)
  • 1/2 cup vanilla or chocolate frosting (for sticking eyes)
  • 2436 candy eyeballs
  • 23 tbsp red decorating gel or warmed strawberry jam
  • Halloween sprinkles or flaky salt (optional)

  • Instructions

    1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8×8 or 9×9 in pan with parchment and spray lightly.

    2. Press cookie dough evenly into the bottom of the pan to form a uniform layer.

    3. Prepare brownie batter per box directions; fold in chocolate chips if using.

    4. Spread brownie batter over the cookie layer, smoothing to the corners.

    5. Bake 35–40 minutes, until edges are set and a toothpick comes out with fudgy crumbs.

    6. Cool in pan on a rack until fully set, about 45–60 minutes.

    7. Lift out, then spread a thin swipe of frosting where eyeballs will sit.

    8. Press candy eyeballs onto the surface; drizzle with red gel for a spooky effect.

    9. Add sprinkles or a light pinch of flaky salt if desired; chill 10 minutes to set.

    10. Slice into 16 squares; store airtight at room temp 2–3 days or refrigerate up to 1 week.
