1. Preheat oven as directed on cake mix box and grease a 9×13-inch baking pan.
2. Prepare chocolate cake batter according to package instructions and pour into prepared pan.
3. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes until a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean, then let cool for 10 minutes.
4. Use the handle of a wooden spoon to poke holes evenly across the warm cake surface.
5. Drizzle warmed hot fudge sauce over the cake, allowing it to seep into the holes.
6. Whisk together instant pudding mix and milk until thickened, then pour over the cake to fill remaining holes.
7. Let the cake cool completely so the pudding layer sets.
8. Spread whipped topping over the cake and swirl marshmallow creme on top.
9. Lightly dust with cocoa powder and sprinkle mini marshmallows and optional garnish.
10. Refrigerate for at least two hours before slicing and serving.
