  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 clove garlic, minced (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh herbs (basil, parsley, or thyme, optional)
  • 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese (optional)

  • Instructions

    1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).

    2. Slice squash in half lengthwise; scoop out seeds.

    3. Brush cut sides with olive oil; season with salt and pepper.

    4. Place squash cut-side down on a baking sheet lined with parchment.

    5. Roast 35–45 minutes until flesh is tender and easily shredded with a fork.

    6. Let cool 5 minutes, then use a fork to scrape strands from each half.
