Description

Creamy mozzarella molded into spooky skulls, perfect for skeleton-themed Halloween platters, weddings, or adult dinner parties. Easy, elegant, and customizable with pesto, olives, and cured meats.


Ingredients

  • 16 oz fresh mozzarella, patted dry
  • 2 tbsp pesto or finely chopped basil
  • 1 tbsp extra-virgin olive oil
  • Pinch kosher salt
  • Pinch black pepper
  • 1/2 cup sliced black olives
  • 1/2 cup roasted red pepper strips
  • 8 oz prosciutto or salami, for serving
  • Crackers or crostini, for serving

  • Instructions

    1. Rinse and dry silicone skull molds; lightly oil if needed.

    2. Cut mozzarella into chunks; pat very dry and season with salt and pepper.

    3. Press mozzarella firmly into molds; add a dab of pesto or basil and smooth the tops.

    4. Chill 30–45 minutes (or freeze 10 minutes) until firm and well-defined.

    5. Unmold gently; refine details with a small knife if desired.

    6. Brush lightly with olive oil; use olives and pepper strips for spooky accents.

    7. Plate with prosciutto or salami, crackers, and extra pesto for dipping.
