1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 9×9-inch pan with parchment paper.
2. In a bowl whisk pumpkin puree, 3/4 cup sugar, eggs, oil, and 1 teaspoon vanilla until smooth.
3. In a separate bowl combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, pumpkin pie spice, and salt.
4. Stir dry ingredients into pumpkin mixture until just combined.
5. Beat cream cheese until smooth, then add 1/3 cup sugar, egg yolk, 1/2 teaspoon vanilla, and salt until velvety.
6. Spread two thirds of pumpkin batter in pan, drop spoonfuls of cream cheese mixture, then remaining pumpkin batter.
7. Use a knife or spatula to swirl layers gently, creating a marbled pattern.
8. Bake 35–40 minutes until center is set and edges are lightly golden.
9. Cool on a wire rack 30 minutes, then chill at least 1 hour before slicing into bars.
