1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and pat chicken thighs dry; season with salt, pepper, and paprika.
2. Heat olive oil in a cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat and sear chicken skin-side down for 6-7 minutes, then flip and cook 3-4 minutes.
3. Reduce heat to medium, add garlic and sauté for 30 seconds.
4. Pour in orange juice, chicken broth, honey, orange zest, and cranberries, scraping up browned bits and simmer for 4-5 minutes.
5. Return chicken to skillet skin-side up and spoon sauce over each piece.
6. Bake uncovered for 20-25 minutes until internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
7. Remove from oven, stir in butter if using, and let rest for 5 minutes.
8. Garnish with fresh thyme or rosemary before serving.
