  • Total Time: 30 minutes
  • Yield: About 8 cups (68 servings) 1x

Description

Crimson-dusted popcorn drizzled with white chocolate and studded with spooky sprinkles for a sweet-and-creepy Halloween treat. Fast, festive, and perfect for parties or horror movie nights.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 cups popped popcorn (air-popped or lightly salted)
  • 1 cup white chocolate chips
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter (or vegan butter)
  • 1 cup red velvet cake crumbs (about 1 cupcake, crumbled)
  • 12 drops red gel food coloring (optional)
  • 23 tbsp Halloween sprinkles or candy eyes
  • 2 tbsp powdered sugar (optional, for extra sweetness)
  • 1 oz dark chocolate, melted for drizzle (optional)
  • Pinch pumpkin spice (optional, for a fall twist)

  • Instructions

    1. Line a sheet pan with parchment and spread the popped popcorn in an even layer; remove any unpopped kernels.

    2. Melt white chocolate chips with butter in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second bursts, stirring until smooth (or use a double boiler).

    3. Tint the melted chocolate with 1–2 drops red gel food coloring if desired, stirring until evenly colored.

    4. Drizzle half the chocolate over the popcorn, sprinkle on half the red velvet crumbs, and gently toss to coat.

    5. Add the remaining chocolate and crumbs; toss again until the popcorn is evenly coated and crimson-dusted.

    6. While still tacky, scatter Halloween sprinkles or candy eyes over the popcorn; drizzle with melted dark chocolate if using.

    7. Dust lightly with powdered sugar and add a pinch of pumpkin spice if desired for extra sweetness and fall aroma.

    8. Let set at room temperature 15–20 minutes (or chill briefly), then break into clusters and serve.
